2011 Nat Qualifier Results

On March 26, 2011, at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, TN, the Tennessee Division of the United States Fencing Association held its National Fencing Championship Qualifying Competition. This was a statewide competition - open to all registered USFA fencers in TN only. Events were held for men and women separately for ages 10 and up in Foil, Epee, and Sabre.


Several CBHS Fencing Team members and Coach Tom entered in the competition and placed - therefore qualifying for entrance at the USFA National Fencing Championships to be held this year in Reno, NV during the first two weeks of July. 


CBHS Fencing Team Captain Peter Wetzel placed Second in both Men's Epee and Men’s Foil. CBHS Fencing Coach Thomas Knowles placed First is both Men's Foil and Men's Epee. Also competing was CBHS Team Member Tanner Germany.


The annual National Fencing Championships are the culmination of the fencing season and average several thousand fencers in attendance.


All of the above-mentioned fencers train at the Memphis Fencers Club inside Collierville Arts Academy (www.colliervillearts.com).
